An untapped market for business?

By

It seems that everyone is getting so wrapped up in where to prospect, and how to prospect for new business. There's the old fashioned tried and true cold calling and door knocking, which I enjoy, and an entire world of social networking. Every time you turn on your computer to check your email someone is trying to sell you the 'best kept marketing secret' out there, and it's usually some kind of social networking thing.

I believe that we need to have our rods in as many ponds as possible, but there's one pond that a lot of Realtors seem to forget about...Other Realtors. It's a well stocked pond, and it's so well hidden deep in the woods that most Realtors don't seem to want to bother looking for. And, when 'newbies' ask what the 'best' methods of creating business are, everyone seems to point to SOI's, farm areas, and social stuff like blogging, Facebook, etc. How about other Realtors?

Other Realtors are everywhere, and they're an untapped market. This year alone I've had 3 referrals from other Realtors out of the same office, and they're only 60 minutes down the road. 2 referrals came from the same Realtor.

Do you include fellow Realtors in your prospecting?

Alex--Excellent message.  Stick with ActiveRain.  It is great way to get word out to other Realtors.
