Have you Opened a Treasure Chest Lately?

When our children were very young, we realized that we needed a place to keep all those special art projects, stories, and school papers that they produced over the years, so we dedicated an old chest to holding these mementos.  For over 20 yeaMemory Treasure Chestrs we have put special items inside, but it has been opened for investigating only a few times over the years.

Today we were going through things to pack as we downsize, and the kids decided they needed to weed out a few items.  We spent the day going through our treasure chest and having a fabulous time laughing, remembering, and reminiscing.

Do you have a treasure chest of your own?  Have you opened it lately?  Memorial Day weekend is a very appropriate time to reopen those memories or start a Memory Treasure Chest of your own!

A wonderful Memorial Day to all!

That's a wonderful old chest, Chris - a perfect place for storing precious memories. I'll bet you guys had a great time going through it all today!

That's a great idea.  I might have to look into a similar thing for my family.

We have an old trunk that I haven't opened for a while, Chris. I was just thinking about going through it the other day. Must have something to do with the time of year.

Hi Rose - The best part was how many memories the kids shared while going through the chest!

Hi Greg - I think your entire family will enjoy it, even if it is just a big box.

Good idea.  Everybody with children should have one or more treasure chests.

Blooming for you!

Hi Roy - Not that I am there yet, but it would probably be pretty cool to make something like this for the grandkids!  : )

Well, I hate to say this, my treasure chest is my closet! I really need to do something about it!

Hi Patricia - It is nice to have things in one place, but that doesn't always happen.  There is a "bin" of early kids clothes, and old costumes hang in the office closet.  One thing about the upcoming move is that it has to be put together!  : )
