Take Some Time To Reflect Today ~ Memorial Day 2011

On this Memorial Day, 2011, let us not forget WHY we have this day off from school.  WHY we have this day off from work.  WHY we are celebrating with cookouts, parties, parades and maybe even some sale shopping at the mall or outlets.

There is a very special group of men and women who fought to defend our country and our freedom.  They sacrificed their lives for our country.

While it’s certainly ok to enjoy a day off with family and friends, please remember to take a moment to remember those who sacrificed everything they had for all of us.

Don’t you think it's the least we can do?

It is very important to remember why we have this day off, Barbara. And, hopefully, one day we won't have to worry about losing anymore soldiers.

Barbara, it is heard to Hear "Happy Memorial Day", when that is not the true meaning!    Great post!

Barbara our Memorial Day Parades got rained out around here, were they able to have the parades in your part of the State?

Joan -- Again, many just think of the day as a day off without reflecting upon its true meaning.

George -- We had thunder and lightning early morning, but the parade did take place!
