Have you ever needed to walk your out of state client through an offer or point out a few important items on an inspection report? There are some instances where a phone call is sufficient and others when you need the ability to present documents online.
I have used online meetings for everything from training employees to meeting with colleagues and up until a couple of months ago I was a GoToMeeting evangelist. I loved the system and was comfortable with it; kind of like an old shoe. The problem was that the benefits of GoToMeeting just didn't support the substantial monthly cost. So I went in search of a free or at least cheaper version with similar features.
I tried a free system called Freebinar (thus the name) and was less than impressed. Every time I attempted to use it, the person on the receiving end felt as if they'd had a little too much to drink based on the slant of my screen.
Next up was DimDim. The name said it all for me and so did their customer service.
Then along came Join.me; an unfussy, cleanly built online application with extensive functionality. I'd finally found my solution! And the best part? It's free!
Whether you need to just hop on and share your screen quickly or run a sales meeting complete with an online presentation - Join.me can handle it! Within a matter of seconds, you can click "share" and give anyone access to your screen or you can join someone else and view their screen.
With Join.me you can pull together a quick sales meeting, review documents, train staff or walk a client through important paperwork. The beauty (and brilliance) behind Join.me is that it's quick, it's easy and it doesn't require a long contract or large monthly bill.
There is a paid version at $29 per month, but I've yet to need to upgrade. The robust features of the free version include:
- screen sharing
- 250 viewers
- share control
- multi-monitor
- chat
- send files
And how cool is this? Both the free and pro version includes the ability for anyone with an iPhone, iPad or Android to join a meeting from their mobile device no matter where they are!
As join.me says, this is a ridiculously simple screen sharing tool for meetings on the fly and I have to say - I agree!
