You Can't Buy This Kind of Publicity
Yesterday, I was at a high school graduation party. Someone brought up the subject of movies. Since we'd just seen the movie Secretariat. I suggested this movie as a must see.
One of the women, mentioned she had not seen the movie but had read the book and it was an excellent read. Then my husband remarks that I write a real estate blog and had just written a featured post inspired by the movie, Is Your Business Built for Speed or Endurance?
Everyone was very interested in the subject of blogging and wondered how I tie that into real estate. I explained that I blog about a variety of things, including neighborhoods, listings, local businesses and even personal things.
One man says, "So, if I'm looking to sell my house, should I use someone who is blogging?" My response, "Absolutely! You don't just want someone who is going to list your property in the MLS, put a sign in the yard and walk away. I actively blog about neighborhoods and listings to better be found on the internet. And since, 89% of buyers start their search on the internet, these neighborhoods and listings are seen by a greater number of buyers."
Then he says, "Hey, do you mind sending me a link to your blog?"
Do I mind? The result, several people gave me their email address so I could send a link to my blog. Then I said, "Hey, if you like what you see, pass it on to your friends." Now, I have several new email addresses to add to my database.
