Yes, look down at your feet and check out those shoes that you are wearing. It has come to my attention that many-many women are woefully neglectful about the maintenance and care of their footwear. Its a fact your feet are important, and so is the appearance of the shoes that you wear (I am not talking style). I was invited to a lovely afternoon tea which was being held by a community group. I was stunned at the the number of women that walked in and were nicely attired except for their shoes (I am not talking about does the shoes match the outfit). I mean ladies back the train up and look at yourself in the mirror before you leave your home and check out your whole assemble, do your shoes say "I need help". I observed five things that need to be addressed.
- Clean your shoes, I spotted so many shoes that had stains (including dust, dirt & other unidentified objects) on them-- take the time to wipe them off -- its simple and very easy to do.
- Women wearing high heels that soles that have gone south and you can hear them coming a mile away with the clackey-clackey sound (the heel sole is gone) they make when they walk. Take your shoes in for re-soling it very cost effective and it cuts down on the noise pollution.
- Women check out the back of your heels on your shoes --do you have black scuff marks on the right heel where you press down on the accelerator pedal in your vehicle --a simple was to prevent this from happening is to place a piece of toweling (secured) where you place you foot it stops this marking from occurring.
- Women who wear strappy shoes --- check and see if the straps are not about to break. Get them fixed.
- Take a good long look at your shoes if they need to be cleaned do so, if they need to be polish invest the time, if they need to have the bottoms re-soled take them to a shoemaker or cobbler. You can be wearing a $500 pair of shoes it does not matter if they look like you have soles, that need replacing, stains that are evident and straps that are about to break.
I could care less if you wear six inch heels or walking shoes, take the time to make sure that you really are putting your best foot forward.
