In the heart of the Central Coast you will findthe cityof San Luis Obispo. With a population of over 44,000, this Central Coast city has been able to maintain a “small town atmosphere”. The downtown area is blooming with a variety of quaint shops perfect for spending the day shopping or dining overlooking a creek. The acclaimed Cal Poly University is also located within this magnificent Central Coast city. Surrounding the downtown area are gorgeous Victorian homes, townhouses and mansions. San Luis Obispo is also famous for its historic farmers' market, which you can be part of every Thursday evening. Along the Coast, you will find the Central Coast area has quaint and famous small towns, such as Morro Bay (famous for Morro Rock). Morro Bay offers wonderful shopping along the ocean front Embarcadero at the harbor and fabulous ocean view dining. This small Central Coast town has its own theatre for family entertainment or that special date. It's a great little mid size beach town!

Cayucos offers a smaller population, and is only a few miles north of Morro Bay. In this Central Coast town, nearly every home is within walking distance to the beach! Cayucos also has great ocean view dining - and with its pier and swings on the beach, it's a great family day everyday!

Located a few miles further up the Central Coast from Cayucos, you will find the unique village of Cambria. If you prefer more of a “mountain get-away” feeling, then this Central Coast town, known as “Cambria, Pines by the Sea”, may be the place for you. Only 45 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo, this quaint little Central Coast town offers pine trees galore throughout, hills and creeks, and a year-round atmosphere of relaxation. Cambria
The ENTIRE area looks absolutely fabulous. Im leaning toward the morro bay area with the volcano rock and surreal looking beaches, but everywhere looks divine. Maybe this would be the place for retirement, when we do. This area is a definetely must see on my list.
