Thankful Thursday, 6/2/11 Swinging Summer Thursday in West Chester!

By

Tonight is the first Swingin' Summer Thursday of the season in West Chester!  The weather today is nothing short of spectacular so being outside tonight will be a wonderful time!  Tonight's music will be Blue's and I will be tapping my foot to the music!  I'm thankful to Suburban West Realtor's Association and Home Builders Association for sponsoring tonight's happy hour

Anyone who has been within whining distance of me this week knows that my central air conditioning system waved goodbye to me on Monday night.  It's been in the 90's all week and I have been nothing short of miserable.  Today was literally a breath of fresh air.  The windows are open and life is good.

I had the humbling experience of interviewing 3 different companies to buy a new HVAC system.  I now know the feeling sellers experience when they call to say that the choice was hard, but they picked someone else (fortunately this doesn't happen very often!).  It's not an enviable position but I trust I picked the best company for the job.   Picking from 3 qualified people is a very hard thing to do.  The unit won't be installed for 10 days so I am praying the cooler temperatures last.

Today, I am thankful for the the moderate temperatures, the breezes and life in general.

Carpe Diem!

You know Susie- your A/C story makes me think I need to buy a back-up unit now to have on stand by for if/when this happens to me.  Even if it's one of those portable models that can roll from room to room.  I got an email from QVC this morning about one... gosh I hope it's not a sign.

Tammy, I wouldn't wish this on anyone.  It was sweltering and humid and I was not a happy camper.   I borrowed two window units and they made yesterday bearable, but up to then, I was murderous.

Susan, glad you are having cooler weather, and tonight should be a fun night on the town.  It always seems like it is difficult to get AC people during peak season so you did well to have a choice of three to make your decision from.  If you have a two story home I hope you went with a zoned system or two units with separate thermostats-it makes all the difference in the world!  Have a nice cool weekend, Susan!

It's 99 degrees outside at my house right now at 5:30, so K know just what you mean.  We had a leak in our system last summer.  But we patched it up and it seems to be working.

Susan,

Outside, at a concert, before mosquito season...that's a lot to be thankful for.

Hi Susan,

When we turned our AC on this year, it wouldn't start.  Luckily it was just a stingbug had crawled its way inside the starter relay.  $125 service call to remove the dead body!  Frustrating but not a new unit.  Stay cool the weather is supposed to be pretty nice; our AC is back off.

And there's the number one reason I moved from Dallas to the mountains! No AC required here...but if your heat goes out in the winter, it's more than uncomfortable! Sending cool breezes your way!
