Woodland Glen Neighborhood - Powell, Ohio 43065 -  Delaware County in the news

A break in in the Woodland Glen neighborhood in southern Delaware County Wednesday evening may have solved other Central Ohio crimes on bank owned real estate according to the news this morning.  The property where the "suspect" was apprehended is a bank owned home.

Columbus Board of REALTORS ® members got a story via email from the Columbus Board last night.  The details sounded a little different than the story on NBCi4.com's story written by Alex Mazer.

Suspect used fake documents to enter vacant homes

... fake documents and keys?  Keys are the key to getting into a property.

The news website story says  "When deputies arrived to the home, they found 24-year-old Monte Shoemaker of Columbus. They questioned Shoemaker and found a set of keys in his possession, which allowed him access to the homes."

It also says

"During questioning, Shoemaker provided paper work for a number of HUD work orders.

Further investigation of these work orders indicated the documents were fake and many of the listed properties on the paperwork had recent thefts, according to Sheriff Walter L. Davis III. "

I am interested to hear more about this as the story unfolds.

The bank owned property in Liberty Township is not a HUD* home.  The way the story was told in the email from the Columbus Board of REALTORS, neighbors... people who live in the Woodland Glen subdivision in the Powell area played a part in foiling the break-in at the Dauer Court bank owned property.

Did the fake documents allow the "suspect"  to get the keys to the properties?

It sounds like the "suspect" is going to be tied to thefts in Delaware and other Central Ohio communities from a statement from the Delaware County Sheriff in the NBC4i.com story.
