Short Sales and Open Houses....Do they work together well?

By
Real Estate Agent with Home Foundations LLC

I have a new Short sale listing (www.676QuailCreek.com) and I was wondering if I should do an Open House? This place is spotless and ready to move-in!  If you have any short sales out there that you did an open house for let me know how it went? Was it better or worse than a regular Open House!

thanks

In the end, buyers want houses and aren't really paying much attention to whether it's a short sale or not.  Their agents will be doing that.  So if the house is in godo shape, do it.

I would do it especially if you have already formed a line of communication with the bank.  Good luck!!

Most of our listings here are short sales.  I do Open Houses at Short Sale Properties and they are no worse than non short sale open houses.  Invite the neighbors, directional sign 4 streets out in every direction and offer a snack and you will have an ok turn out. Worse case cenario you find a new Buyer to show other homes to.

A short Sale Customer should be treated the same as any other Arms Length Transaction.  Best of Luck and I hope you find an "A" list buyer from it.
