A very popular beach is on J Percy Priest just off Anderson Road in Southeast Nashville. There are sandy beaches, playgrounds and a boat The Day Use fee is $4/car. Lock 3 Beach on Old Hickory Lake is FREE. It is just off Walton Ferry Road in Hendersonville.

Metro Parks' Community Pools offer free swimming during "open Swimming" and "lap swimming" times. These community Pools are located in various parts of Nashville and can be found on the website.

Metro Parks also has Wave Country off Briley Parkway. Admission is not free but you can get a $2 coupon on their website!

Many of the nearby Tennessee State Parks also have Free Swimming Beaches! East you will find Rock Island and Long Hunter State Parks. To the West but before Dickson is Montgomery Bell State Park. Most of them do NOT have Lifeguards on duty, so plan accordingly.

Spray Parks are great fun for the little ones! Tennessee Map Plaza, at Bicentennial Mall, isn't exactly a Spray park but the fountain shoots water from the map and it's one of the most popular places to cool off in Downtown Nashville. True spray parks are located at Watkins Park on 17th Avenue North, across from MLKing Magnet School and Kirkpatrick Sprayground at 620 S. Ninth St in East Nashville.

 

Go Boating! Nashville TN Summer things to do

 

Radnor Lake, the Otter Creek Road state park offers Canoe Floats and other events.

 

Stones River Watershed will have a Boat Day on June 25th from 9am to Noon. Learn about boats and boat safety. This event will take place at the Manson Pike Trailhead off Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro.
