Craig, The niche outside blog is paying dividends for us. "Warren County Patio Homes" on Google results in 7 hits on page 1, and #7,9 & 10 aren't ours. As we add more blog posts to the subject matter, I think we can take over the rest of the page. Now we need to get the same type of results for towns in our county and we'll really have the segment covered.
Good morning, Craig. Definitely Mac but have not jumped on the "i" bandwagon. Went with another droid as the iPhone is not 4G as of yet. Like you, I am a techie and have to have the latest and greatest gadgets <sigh>...
Good morning Craig; It's always interesting to see what you have to say. I'm still learning and happy to do so. Thanks for all your great tips.
Craig....it would be great if AR would hire you!! Is the Ipad not compatible with AR? Ipad is on my list & in my budget for my next purchase. Do I need to re-think that? You can find me on google if you are looking for a buyer agent in canton ma or milton ma!
Craig,
I have made the full jump to Apple since getting a falling in love with my iPad, I then got a Macbook Pro, and then as soon as my phone was eligible for an upgrade I traded in my BB to Verizon for the new iPhone. I would love to hear what everyones best longtail keywords are also though.
Hi Craig, I have made it to page one on google "Temecula Valley Home". All because of what I've learned on AR! You are a weath of information, thanks for sharing,
You have more great ideas when you ramble than others have in a year. How do you you keeps all those ideas flying in formation?
Craig, I wish I had random thoughts like this! Are you going to be teaching @ AR now? Does this mean you'll be at RAin Camp in June? That'd be way cool!
You've been busy! I wrote a blog article a while ago about buying fixer upper homes in Los Altos. Now, when someone searches for "los altos fixer upper", my article is on Page 1 and position #1 in Google.
Craig, well, you write like I think most of the time, LOL.
Page 1 for "first time home buyer New Milford CT" and many more! I have been working hard to get there, it is paying off. But it is not instant, so one has to have patience.
Patience is hard when you tend to have the attention span of a gnat you know...
PC
Can't remember anything else, LOL... time to move on!
Craig I use my iPad and there is a trick for accessing AR on it and commenting. I have not started to draft posts on my iPad. I have WP loaded and can write in it but can't save a a draft it publishes right away so maybe someone has something to contribute about saving drafts on the ipad for blogs!
Great tips, Craig! And a new website revamp? FUN!! That's the kind of stuff I live for!! :) Hope you're having a great weekend!!
thanks all - I do appreciate the responses and "random comments" LOL in return
thanks for all refs to google search success stories, I want to incorporate those into a future post
Marilyn - iPad, if you have a trick to AR comments, please share! :)
Peg - no I don't have that assignment yet (nor expected)...
you guys ae all doing great with the city/state thing (Emily... you might want to update yours so we don't have to go to your profile to see where you are from)
Emily - the web refresh is going well, hope to go live with it sometime in about a week... :)
Craig - Great ramblings! I'm an all Apple girl. Macbook Pro, iPhone, and I really, really, really want an iPad, although I don't really need one. I'm not techie savvy, so I probably only use 1/100th its capabilities, but the designs are so sexy!
I wrote a long tail title for one of my A/R posts in January 2010: Mid-Century Modern Home Staging - Gastown, Vancouver, B.C. If you type "home staging Gastown" in Google, it shows up #1 and #2.
I voted for your collage!
I think A/R should hire you to teach webinars.
Love it...kind of speed reading because the sun is out here today...and it's been a damp spring, but I'm going read it again tomorrow. And, I agree with Sally. I will also vote for your collage...and I too think you should teach webinars.
My long tail key word success: homes for sale in eagle creek golf and country club naples fl, I have just checked and I am now at the top two, this is the result of my 31 day of May Challenge!
Great post and I have no doubt that one day you will be employed by AR!
So many things to comment on...I've been meaning to subscribe to the Daily Drop...you made that very easy for me.
Long Tail Search...events...it seems the Annual Easter Egg hunt is my most popular followed by NORAD at Christmas time...
Collage...I wish I'd known that about the State one...I thought that was pretty cool. But computer generated takes all the oooh and ahhhh out of it.
I think it would be very cool if AR hired you...I could say I knew you when...lol
Sally - cool that you gave that SEO example thanks! (and thx 4 the vote!) :: Debb - hope you enjoyed the sun! see you on the return! :: Christine - great niche victory, thanks for sharing! :: Cindy - you got the location added to your name fields probably better than anybody! LOL good thing you don't live in columbus, that just wouldn't rhyme!
Craig, every time I visit your post, I learn something new. Thank you so much for sharing great tips and links. Have a great weekend.
Wow, that really was random - but fun, not boring at all.
How about a PayPal click at the bottom of your posts? I know I owe you a couple of bucks!
I think Bob should hire you as a trainer - you are very patient. (I have proved that for ya!)
I have a LOT of mesquite subdivisions - copper bluffs, sunset greens, vista del monte, etc.
One of my favorites is generic ones:
gated golf course community mesquite nv
I don't have anything MAC - I want an Ipad.
I use Windows XP on my laptop, 7 on my office computer - HATE 7
Good morning Craig,
Wow what a great post..You are the best and love all the information you make available to us! I bookmark more of your posts than anyone!!
Elizabeth - teacher's favorite words, thanks! :: Virginia - I'm doing a post soon on medium/long tail success stories, will definitely use your refs (you were a fav of Steven in ARU for that reason!) thanks! :: Dorie - I'm honored to be bookmark fav! thank you! :)
Great random thoughts Craig. I wish my brain worked like that. My random thoughts are "oh no I forgot to email so and so", "I can't forget to follow up with so and so tomorrow", ......So pretty much an ongoing to do list.!
Craig-my mouth and mind wake up with random thoughts, my problem is that they are never in sync.
My best long tail post was written March 2010 and is # for Millpond Home Staging and #1 for Boca Raton Home Staging.
I'm a PC user, with the Droid X, which I do have some issues with. I think though it's not the Android system but the insturment itself. I want to get a tablet but can't decide between an iPad or Samsung Galaxy. Whichever I get has to be able to "comment" on AR. I like th Galaxy because it has Flash but since everything seems to be "i" oriented in terms of the peripherals then I'm leaning towards the iPad.
I ended up in the Top 10 in the Collages challenge but was embarassed when I saw some of the others. I did however picked out the words and put them together for my center part. LOL
Finally I have to say you are a welcome addition to the AR Community.
Craig, your random thoughts beat mine anyday. Wish AR would wake up and hire you to do their AR University classes. If you were on their team, our wishlists would be closer to reality.
I'm a PC user with a Blackberry. I'm seriously considering getting an ipad2. Is it not compatible with AR? That would be a bummer and take alot of the wind out of the sails. Which tablet would you get if you were in the market for one right now? As for SEO and longtails - I wish I understood them more and how to make them work for me. I could use a private tutorial on that one and even then, I'm not sure it how much I'd grasp. Help!!!!
Craig, I wish everyone on AR would include their name in their AR name field. As you said, location is important. Name is very important, as well. When I am replying to people who leave comments on my blog, I like to use their first name. Sometimes there is only a company name.
I am seeing results from my long tail homesforsalein lunenburgcountynovascotia
Craig
I stumbled across this blog because another one of your's was just featured. Thanks for the education. I'm liking your training style. I also love to train.... thanks...
Craig- You seem to have a wealth of knowledge about all things techy! I like the random thoughts post!
Well, I'm a little late to the party here, but I like your post. I didn't think of adding my city and state to my name, but I will try it. Thanks for the random thoughts - I need to do more of that, well, actually, I need to blog more, period.
Craig,
I regret that I didn't know about you when I joined AR. I did a lot of meaningless ramblings; thankfully, some nice people must have felt sorry for my amateur ways and gave me a chance to grow up and be brave and bold and stay in the RAIN to blog nearly every day and I've been fortunate to have had a few features.
There are so many good people in the RAIN and you are one of the Stars I see, so it's an honor and a privilege to get to know you. Thank you for this post that has helped me already. I am always thankful for confident leaders like yourself who are the backbone to success.
I have yet to switch to Apple yet but do have iPad and iPhones. Kind of reluntant to learn new OS. :) I know they are great for media editing and I am really really tempted.
I love this...there is something more "real" about random thoughts - as long as the thoughts are interesting, of course. LOL And yours are! As for the iPad and A/R, I should pay more attention to when I can use it on A/R and when I cannot, but under certain circumstances, I have been able to make comments via my iPad - but most of the time I cannot. Again, I need to pay more attention. As for keywords, I used to consistently have good results for "old town alexandria realtor" (website susanmovesyou.com) but this spring market has been crazy busy and I really haven't had time for consistency.
