Just had to share this newsclip...brought a smile to my face. The story begins with a foreclosure filing by Bank of America against a Florida homeowner. Hardly newsworthy, I know. Unfortunately for BofA, the homeowner in question did not have a mortgage with BofA...in fact they didn't have a mortgage at all!!
It doesn't clarify how this mix-up occurred, although obviously attention to detail was lacking on BofA's part. Nonetheless, the homeowners were forced to hire an attorney and go to court to prove their free-and-clear ownership of their home, for which they had paid cash. What's wrong with THAT picture! Needless to say, significant legal fees were incurred in that process. BofA was ultimately ordered by the judge to reimburse the homeowners for their legal expenses. You will no doubt be shocked to learn that BofA totally ignored that judgment against them. So the homeowners' attorney took the next step, and foreclosed on the bank. Showed up at the local branch with moving vans and sheriffs deputies. Locked the branch manager out of his office. Within an hour, the manager handed a check to the homeowners' attorney. :)
You can watch the newsclip at this link...enjoy!
