My Zombie friends say...."don't be afraid of the markets slow recovery!" Clark Howard, the financial guru has help for you!
If you don't listen to Clark Howard on TV or the radio...you should really sign up for his newsletter! I have listened to him for at least ten years. Any question about finances...I usually check his webpage out first. He has GREAT reliable advice about anything you can think of, such as the best credit cards to choose, buying or investing in real estate, protecting your internet searching, colleges, travel deals and advice, best stocks advice, retirement ideas...he's awesome.
Clark Howard's shows are done in a sweet and thoughtful manner. He helps people in a gentlemanly fashion and gives them skills to improve whatever question they are calling about. Of course, since I'm in real estate, I trust Clark's advice too. He watches the markets, the employment, the housing markets. Clark says the real estate market is favoring the first time home buyers and the rental clients. Investors can make good decisions in this market too. Clark says the housing recovery is coming, but it will be awhile. Here's a clip from his real estate webpage:
"When you're talking about housing, there's something called the affordability index that goes back to 1970. Economists are now saying the affordability of housing is at the best level it's ever been in the 41 years since records were kept.
So look at it like this: You have the cheap price of housing and money that's available on the cheap to those who qualify. Taken together, that means there's never been a more affordable time to buy.
To make money from a house, though, you have to stay put for some time, usually a minimum of 7 years. It's a mistake to think you can buy a home and quickly dispose of it like yesterday's fast food."
In Clark Howard's newsletter, I loved his article on going to college and which careers make the most money in your lifetime! Clark wrote: "On average, a college degree holder makes 84% more in a lifetime than someone who completes high school and then doesn't go on for further education."
