The 26th Season of the TGIF Jazz in the Parks Concert Series Starts June 24th in Carlsbad CA

It's that time again...for one of the best entertainment options of the summer in Carlsbad.

Carlsbad's popular TGIF Jazz in the Parks series starts June 24 and continues for 9 consecutive Fridays in 1 of 3 beautiful Carlsbad parks. Concerts start a 6 PM and run until about 8 with an intermission.

This FREE concert series - the 26th - is always well attended, with several thousand residents and visitors enjoying the beautiful outdoors with al fresco dinner on chairs and blankets for 2 hours, and terrific music varying from jazz to blues to latin salsa to reggae to New Orleans funk.

This year the TGIF Jazz in the Parks offers only 1 repeat band this year so you'll have some great opportunities to hear new music. The quality of the bands has always been excellent and this year should be no different.

Here's the TGIF Jazz in the Parks schedule:

June 24, July 1 & 8 - STAGEOACH PARK, 3420 Camino del los Coches

July 15, 22 & 29 - POINSETTIA PARK, 6600 Hidden Valley Road

August 5, 12, & 19 - CALAVERA HILLS PARK, 2997 Glasgow Drive

Be sure to arrive early as parking can be a challenge in the surrounding neighborhood areas - there are usually a couple of parking areas with free shuttle service. There is plenty of dancing, some food options if you don't bring your own, and lots of raffle prizes which raise thousands of dollars to help fund these free concerts and other arts events during the year through the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts committee.

Ah, Summer. Free concerts in parks around the country. And some not so free. But people and music outdoors is just the best.

Love these kind of events! Nothing better than to sit out on the grass, sipping a nice local varietal wine, some cheese & crackers, taking in some smooth jazz!...

I love these concerns in the park, but 6/24 is my anniversary and we will be away. See you at the next one.
