Steve: Broadlands is located in Loudoun County Virginia Sue. The resources at your disposal for evaluating your child's education options are extensive and thorough.

The current percentage of college bound graduates in Loudoun is 84%...pretty good eh? The Washington Post ranked 5 Loudoun County High Schools  among the nations top 200.

The Post's Challenge Index ranks schools based on the number of Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a high school divided by the number of graduating seniors. Ten of LCPS' 12 high schools are eligible to be ranked by the Challenge Index.

The 200 schools cited by The Post are the top echelon of the roughly 27,000 public high schools nationwide.

The LCPS schools ranked in the top 200, with their ranking are:

Ron: How do I know which schools serve a home I might consider buying?

Steve: Go to Loudoun County's school boundary site and enter the address of the prospective property. You will be given the elementary, middle and high school that currently serves that home. There is also a phone number for you to double check to see if any boundary changes are anticipated. Always, verify the online results with the county before purchasing based on school boundaries...they change.
