By the way, I am not trying to post marketing material to the 'inspirational thought for the day', but I am new to ActiveRain and not sure how to turn off the 'signature' to a particular posting. I went in to edit the message and don't see the functionality for that.
If anyone knows how I can create a post that doesn't include the 'signature' from the profile, please let me know.

it's totally fine... we gotta do our signature and show who we are and what we do... this is all what's about it....
but you can do me a favor and let me know how the heck to set up the signature ???
I have been looking for it for the past few days and can't find it..
I am new as well.. we gotta help each other out here.. ;-)

If you click on 'Settings' in the menu bar on the left side, when you are on your own home page, toward the bottom of that screen there is a free-form area entitled 'signature'. The stuff you include in that section will automatically appear on the bottom of each of your blog posts.
I just wish there was a way to elect to turn it off on Members Only posts, if we wanted to. Maybe there is and I haven't found it yet.
