What the heck is a "Trigger Lead"???
When a lender runs your credit, the 3 major databases (XPN, TU and EFX) sell your information. This makes your phone ring off the hook with many people that purchased your name. Some of these calls will be more than a nuisance, they can be pushy and I have even had clients that are made to think that they already applied with "brand x".
The bad news is there has been a huge increase in Trigger lead activity in the past few weeks,
But there is something you can do about it moving forward.
You can OPT OUT:
Stop the junkmail. Prevent ID Theft.
You can remove your name from marketing lists by Opting Out with a free service honored by the bureaus. Just dial888 5-OPT OUT (888-567-8688) or visit:
www.optoutprescreen.com to register.
This is also something important to discuss with our clients to be sure they are safe, and they do not become victims of scams or ID Theft. When in doubt they should call the lender they applied with before answering any questions to an un-known caller.
