Does anyone know of any place that has digitized Realtor map books?
What I'd like is to be able to select an area on a map and have it print out a large map at the same resolution as if I had copied and pasted together map pages from a map book. I'd like to print it out on a large plotter type printer that could print maps as wide as 36 inches.
When I start with a new client I will piece together a large map of the area they are interested in. I make copies of all of the pages I need from the map book and then trim them down and tape them together. Sometimes the maps are 5 pages by 5 pages which means 25 pages of cutting and pasteing.
It's really nice to be able to highlight the homes that we will see and the route that we will take. My clients usually ask me if they can keep the map so they can get to know the area better.
I've tried making a map and getting it copied at Kinkos but a copy of a copy is hard to read. Also, it always seems like my standard map just doesn't cover every area I need. I've also tried to scan the map pages and piece together one large digital map but I haven't figured out how to put it all together in the way I want.
Let me know if anyone has a solution.
