Agents that can't use a camera

By
Real Estate Agent with Realtor

Most every Multiple Listing System across the country gives all Realtors the option of adding extra photos of each home they list.  These extra photos are cruicial in capturing the internet buyer.  Less than 30% of all Northern Illinois Realtors take advantage of this extra marketing tool.  I will never understand why every agent would not use this simple tatic.  However, after looking at MLS photos week after week that make me go "huh?", I can understand why.

Here are actual photos from agents that I have found on my local MLS system.

"Here, you sit here in the dark and look at this paperwork while I take your picture"

"The dog taking a crap is a distraction for me from that beautiful blue tarp!"

"No....No.....your countertop is fine.  People like clutter"

"With a full price offer, we'll throw in the plant!"

                  "OH look!  Our Dream House!!"

I found this picture on October 10th.......we haen't had snow since FEBRUARY!!

"Here, sit down and watch some TV.  Care for a smoke?"

"LOOK!!! This one has windows!!"

"I've always dreamed of having a mirror on my closet doors!!  Where do I sign?!"

"And here we have a door...that leads to......somewhere"

Please don't embarass yourself!

I love your comments on every photo, I am sitting here chuckling.  You are right, many agents don't understand the power of pictures; investing in a camera pays for itself quickly (some offices have a communal camera).  With the ihousing inventory being the way it is here in Florida, there are have many homes to chose from; you can guess which homes I will show.  I'm not fond of being embarrassed so I want to know what I am walking into with my clients.

This blog is HILARIOUS!  I nearly choked on the craker I was eating!  Your caption for the dog/tarp-too funny!

It is imperative to keep the photos updated (ie its spring-no more snow!) and use the MAX the MLS allows.  Get this; I knew one agency that was still using the old Polaroid 2 or 3 years ago-A POLAROID!

Jeff -- Those photos are outrageously funny!  With the exception of the "snow picture" (I live in FL), I think I have seen almost every one of those examples while perusing Realtor.com.
