The Eastlake community is the heart of Seattle!

Services for Real Estate Pros

Eastlake community member riding his bikeWhen people cross the 520 bridge into Seattle, most of them think that there are only two options available at the other end.  North or South...  The best kept secret lies just on the other side of the I-5 freeway wall.  Eastlake.  Having grown up here and helping my father run the family business I know what it’s like to spend time in this neighborhood.  The Eastlake community is a tight knit group of people who enjoy a slightly slower pace next to a major city.

Eastlake avenue is the main drag.  It’s a bee line from the university district into downtown Seattle.  Most people who make the commute only notice the coffee carts, taverns, mom and pop shops and burger joints.  However down the hill from there is the most amazing neighborhood in Seattle.  A steep slope drops quickly to the east side of Lake Union.   It has the feel of a beach community with a Seattle attitude.  The streets are lined with condos, houses and apartments and the shoreline is thick with houseboats, docks and parks.

eastlake community houseboatsEastlake is the heart of Seattle.  Go up the hill and you’re in broadway in less than 10 minutes.  5 minutes in either direction you will end up in the University District or in downtown Seattle.  A trip around Lake Union will take you by Seattle Center, Queen Anne, Fremont and Gas Works Park.  You can go anywhere in the city in less than 20 minutes and the Eastside is just a straight shot across the bridge.

You will find all walks of life in Eastlake.  Dogwalkers, joggers, business professionals, college kids.  And almost everything you need except for a gas station.  When you visit the Eastlake community make sure you visit Pazzo’s for a calzone or an excellent hand tossed pie.  The 14 Carrot Cafe is amazing for breakfast and when you want a basket of peanuts, a round of snooker or shuffleboard and an ice cold beer, there is no place like The Zoo Tavern.

These are the reasons why I believe the Eastlake community is the heart of Seattle. Come visit us soon but don't bring too many friends. We have already been infiltrated by Starbucks. The last thing we need is a Blockbuster Video...
