More than just humans have been affected by the natural disasters our Country has seen lately.  Many pets have been displaced too.  They've lost their humans, their homes and any sense of comfort.  How can we help?  By opening our hearts and donating food, leashes, bowls, beds, blankets, toys, etc to help these pets.

Stop by the Petco at 324 College Road Wilmington NC 28403 on Saturday June 18, 2011 between 11a and 4p to drop off donations to aid these pets.   Our pets give us so much, isn't it nice to give back to them?

How true. Our pets do give us so much and always unconditionally. Your post to help them now hopefully will bring positive results and the food needed at this time.

Tish, Our pets are so much a part of our lives, and often the forgotten casualties during these disasters.  Nice cause to promote!

Hi Tish - Thanks for giving back.  I recently saw a study that said on average, dog owners live approximately 5 years longer than non-dog owners.  I am a HUGE animal lover!  Thanks for advertising such a worthy cause!

What a beautiful post Tish!  As the mom of five rescue pets....I commend you for this!  Just think if everyone donated just one item....Imagine how many animals we could help?

Tish, there is pet food being distributed in North Minneapolis for a few days due to the devastating tornado there nearly two weeks ago.  It is good to know that there are people with big hearts to help others who have lost so much.

Because pets are people too.  Pets are members of some people's families and as such, they are regarded just as highly as people and rightly so.  This is a wonder outreach activity.

Tish, I used to do this when I had my pet shop many years ago.  I need to talk to our local food bank about this,

Oh, Tish what a great event Petco is holding...  I love that some our grocery stores have barrels out year round where we can drop off food and needs that goes to our ASPCA... they do need our help!

I heard there are some neighborhoods that literally have 300-400 stray cats because their owners were displaced. I can't even imagine, but hopefully the owners and these pets will one day be reunited.
