Another Cool Real Estate Agent Productivity Tool

Picnik

A few weeks ago I wrote about two really awesome Realtor® productivity tools—MobileMe (soon to be iCloud) and CardMunch. I’m in love with CardMunch (apologies to my hubby). I should be their sales representative in San Diego County. Today I was showing it off to one of the guys in my office, and I think he fell in love, too.

But, there’s another free (free is good, right?) platform that I use almost every single day that makes my life easier and that is Picnik. Picnik is an Internet-based photo-editing tool that makes editing your photos a walk (a picnic) in the park. It’s so easy to use that most people will abandon Photoshop and other photo-editing programs and go with this one.

Sometimes the photos that we take of properties are high resolution and need to be resized. You can resize a photo on Picnik in about 25 seconds. You can also place text on photos and make other minor edits to photos—including cropping and straightening.

Check out what I have done to this property photo (which was taken on a very foggy day and is crooked):

Before the Picnik:

Oak Valley Hidden Trails

After the Picnik:

Hidden Trails Homes for Sale

After about a year of using Picnik to resize and crop photos and I got a pang of guilt. So, I signed up for one year of the premium membership ($24.95) that allows me access to a bunch of other cool photo-editing tools not available with the free version.

So, if you are a little bit graphic design phobic but like to use nicely edited photos in your blog posts and in your advertising, Picnik would be a good place to start!

I have used Picnik for re-sizing pictures , many times. Though I use GimpShop and IrfanView for photo editing. Will try Picnik for editing, too. Really great site.

Good post.  Several ActiveRain members have advised me that I should be using Picnik.

Life is better when there are flowers to photograph.

Picnik is easy to use and the price is right (FREE).  Great for resizing, framing, and enhancing photos.

I LOVE Picnik (thanks to an introduction from William Johnson) and use it all the time in a variety of ways. I like their slideshows pretty well also. The annual fee is well worth it IMO. Not familiar with CardMunch but will check it out.

I had heard of Picnik here on the Rain but didn't know what it was about.  Thanks for the details and recommendation.  I've got the site bookmarked!
