There's nothing better than referral business. I got started with a new buyer yesterday who was referred to me by a previous client and its great to start out where trust is already established. My new buyer told me that our mutual friend Molly appreciated that I'd never once tried to upsell her or talk her into something bigger or more expensive and that I made the experience of buying a home fun by keeping it light. Evaluating a buyers needs and motivation is the most important peice of the puzzle to successfully getting them into the right home. In this case, not trying to push my commission upward by upselling wound up gaining me a new client, hopefully soon a new deal and possibly many more to come in the future. It feels great!
It should feel great! I believe this is want makes great agents stand out from the rest! Best ofluck to you!
Thank you so much Charlene, coming from someone with your level of experience, that means a lot!
Good morning to Matt Patty of Warwick, Rhode Island! Referrals from clients are absolutely the best way to get business and as a thanks for a job well done! "Not trying to push my commission upward by upselling" is a great way to do business! Prosepective buyers, I believe, as do do, resent that. Congratulations to you! We get a lot of referrals from past clients, friends, Realtors in other areas whose Seller clients are moving to Charlotte and companies whose employees are relocating to Charlotte, NC and SC.
Like you, Matt, we find that listening carefully to understand Buyer's needs and desires then helping them find and Buy a Home in Charlotte that fits their finances is very satisfying - for everyone involved.
