Duties of the Federal Reserve
1.Conducting the Nations monetary policy.
Monetary Policy refers to the actions undertaken by the FED to influence the availability and cost of
money and credit to promote national and economic goals.
2. Supervising and regulating banking institutions and protecting the credit rights of consumers
3.Maintaining the stability of the financial system
4.regulatory and supervisory responsibilities over banks that are members of the FRS.
5. Responsible for the development and administration of regulations that implement major federal laws governing consumer credit such as the Truth-in-Lending Act and the Equal Opportunity Act
