NO TRESPASSN ... FARE WARNING!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner CalBRE# 01433049

I was in Mendocindo County yesterday, WAY out in the middle of nowhere in an area called McNab Ranch. Mendocino is one of three Counties in Northern California that make up the "Emerald Triangle", so named because they are the largest producers of marijuana in the United States.

I spotted a hand-made no trespassing sign and had to take a photo of it. It made me laugh, but I don't doubt for a minute the seriousness of the message.

NEXT 15 MI. BOTH SIDES
NO TRESPASSN
POCHERS AND RIP-OFFS MAY BE SOMMEND TO A
"HIGHER" COURT
FARE WARNING!

No tresspassing sign

Hey maybe it's somebody who's living on the land but doesn't own it - and trying to keep people away so the owners don't realize anybody is back there!

Ma - LOL, maybe the author IS from WV!

Kristin - does he/she have bad breath?

Stewart - McNab Ranch is the name of the road that leads to this area. So everyone calls it McNab Ranch.

Anna Banana - there is a lot of that going on in the Emerald Triangle unfortunately. Even owners of their own land are fearful of walking it.

Cindy - HA! pot, weed, mary jane, marijuana, grass ... how many names can we recall remember look up?

Donne - Love the laughing guy :)

John - YES! Hillbillies. Just beyond this sign is a cock farm (not the anthony weiner version, the rooster version) that raises fighting cocks. A lot goes on in them thar hills.

Peggy - Let's see, you list SF, NY and LA as your stomping grounds. Yes, I agree you have led a sheltered life :) This place is definitely "woodsy".

David - this sign would have been PERFECT in Deliverance!

Fernando - no, no, no, no door knocking here!!

ha ha that's a hillarious sign. I saw a similar one in Greenwood, South Carolina. Wish I'd taken a picture. It mentioned no "stresspassing" and then explained that their normally good dog would become a very bad dog if you "purseeded" any further.

What an amazing sign, Cynthia!  I don't think he is referring to THE Almighty when he said that poachers and rip-offs would be summoned to a higher court.  Novel concept: a judge and jury high on pot!  Mary Jane justice at its best!

John - you just have to stay on the roads when you are in these areas. Take your poddy break BEFORE you head into the hills :)

Bruce - LOL, that was my favorite part of the sign ... "HIGHER".

We were just warned on the radio that if we plan to camp in Eastern, Oregon this summer to carry a weapon. How sad!

Todd - with all of the "mishaps" we have had here, I'm leaning towards supporting the legalization of marijuana. If we can take the criminal aspect out of the equation I don't think folks would have to hide their growing operation and they could lock it behind closed doors. As it is, land owners are in danger of walking their own property. It IS sad ... and dangerous!
