St. Louis cicada update!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Gundaker-St. Louis, MO
We wanted to update you about the cicada activity in St. Louis..... It is significantly improved. We are seeing more and more dead insects on the ground so their total demise is imminent. The noise levels have dropped significantly as well. We attended an outdoor concert tonite and we were afraid that the cicadas would interrupt our enjoyment, but alas, it was cicada free. We should be cicada free until 2015 when the 17 year cicadas emerge. Can't wait.

Those bugs sure are weird!  I saw a news show highlighting a little boy who was totally into the bugs, studying them, etc.  He was only 12 or 13 and had waited his whole life for them to emerge!

Jim and Linda,

I had forgotten about them, but am remembering them well from years ago. :)

I'm glad we don't have anything like that here. I've heard of locusts and others things like your infestation and I just can't even imagine.

Jim and Linda - luckily that's over. Here in NJ we have stink bugs (prehistoric looking things) that came over from China. They are everywhere - we have to exterminate them quarterly and they always come back. It's always something!

Boy do I remember those from our days in Ballwin. Their sound drowns out all other sounds. Glad the problem is diminishing.
