Home Buyers In New Orleans LA: You have run into a situation. You need to sell the house and move as soon as possible. That new job awaits you and you have just a few months to get everything in order and be two states away, settled in your new home and ready to go to work. Your house is really nice and you’ve taken very good care of it so there won’t be a lot you’ll have to do to attract buyers.
The problem is not with your house, but with the next door neighbor’s house. Your house is the nicest and best kept on the block, but the neighbor’s is the messiest on the block. Since it’s right next door to yours, it definitely has an impact on the way yours is seen from the curb. That all important curb appeal is basically missing. Nothing you do to your house will improve the way the area looks in general. What can you do about it?
The official answer to that is usually ‘nothing, nada, zero!’ If you live in an area that has no homeowner’s association and everyone can do their own thing, you have a bit of a problem. First, though, check with the county or city to see if there are regulations or codes that prohibit the kind of mess that exists in your neighbor’s yard. That will help, although it won’t do much for your relationship with the neighbor.
Once you know whether or not you have a legal leg to stand on you can take it from there. Next, consider the circumstances of the neighbor. Often, elderly or disabled people have difficulty in caring for anything beyond the most basic survival chores. Cleaning up the trash that blew all over the yard in the last windstorm is very difficult or can even be impossible. In that case, try contacting a service organization in your area to get them some help with the cleanup. You can offer to help out yourself, too, depending on the relationship you have. Be creative. Paying another neighbor kid $20 to mow their lawn could be one of the best 20’s you ever spent.
There’s even a story circulating that describes how a frustrated neighbor cleaned up another’s mess when they went away for a weekend. None of the other neighbors told who did it, as the trespasser could have been arrested and the whole neighborhood appreciated the new look on the block.
Do not spend the time or money repairing your home and getting it ready to show…. We will buy your home “As Is” so you don’t have to do the work. We are as serious about buying your house as you are about selling it. Selling a house is usually an expensive and complicated process. That’s why real estate agents make thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of dollars on a single sale. But, when we buy your house, there are no commissions to pay and best of all there is no “waiting” involved.
