Why are Brokers Tours more than Just Time Wasted?
The benefit of Brokers Tours are many I definately agree. Besides getting to see the inventory first hand, you build camraderie among your fellow realtors. I am so looking forward to my Caravan this week after reading this post. Thank You Ginny
Why are Brokers Tours more than Just Time Wasted? Brokers Tours are conducted every two weeks in the towns around me with realtors participating from the local areas. Most realtors never bother going on these tours to view the 'inventory' of homes on the market. However, I do believe it is the best way to get up and personal to view every new home on the market. Plus the added benefit is to be able to talk with your fellow realtors about homes for sale, homes about to come on the market and compare notes on short sale transactions happening that you are involved in. It is like having your own private database at your fingertips.
Not only did we get to enjoy some great homes the other day but we saw some high end waterfront homes that just had so much of yesteryear in them that it was just a thrill to view and share with others. But the camraderie that develops in going on these Brokers Tours consistently flows over for later. I can say for sure that many of these realtors I would not have met otherwise except for meeting them on the Brokers tours. So when I am looking for information on a short sale price or home one of them had where I might need additional comps, I can quickly call them up and ask a favor...it is a mutually beneficial exchange of information that works for all. My outreach of knowledge just grew again! In fact, one of the agents was able to share some great short sale information with me this past week. Would he have done it as willingly if I had not established this to and fro information relationship with him on tour? I don't think so.
And yet the best piece of information I garner from the Brokers Tours is that I can tell a potential client that I have been in every home that competes with them in the market. That is strong stuff on a listing appointment to deliver to a new client believe me.
So when you think about not making the Brokers Tour next time in your area think hard about what you may be passing up that could benefit you with against your competition. It may be a win- win situation for you as it was me! Why are Brokers Tours more than Just Time Wasted?Original post: Why are brokers tours more than time wasted?
