Ranked #10 in Money Magazine's 2007 Best Places to Live rankings, more than 16,000 Suwanee residents contribute to Gwinnett County's dramatic year over year growth. Just 30 miles north of Atlanta via I-85, Lawrenceville Highway, or Buford Highway, Suwanee's growth, like many of Atlanta's communities, has surged in the last decade.

Residents rave about the strong sense of community they feel in Suwanee and take pride in their city and its natural landscapes.  Suwanee boasts numerous parks and green spaces, with ongoing plans and development for more through its award-winning open space program.  A diverse variety of arts and entertainment are held in the parks each year, drawing residents together frequently.  Covering more than 10-acres, family-friendly Town Center Park is known as Suwanee's front yard.  It is the city's most popular park and anchors Suwanee's thriving town center.  Suwanee Creek Park, George Pierce Park, Main Street Park, and the Suwanee Greenway encompass more than 400 beautiful acres.

But even with the accolades and the growth, Suwanee is still a small town at heart.  Last century, Old Town was the nucleus of the city.  The train from Atlanta stopped in Old Town, so many businesses and homes were built there.  Today, Suwanee is revitalizing and preserving Old Town while creating a new modern downtown.  The city's comprehensive 2020 plans calls for managed growth while preserving its small-town feel, giving Suwanee a real "our town" appeal.
