Academy School District 20 Monthly Update from Superintendent - June 2011
In this month's Academy School District 20 Monthly Update with the Superintendent, Dr. Hatchell reports that new District 20 students are registering everyday. Over 400 new students have registered since May 15th. District 20 is very interested in making sure that the students and parents are welcomed into the district. New parents to the district are encouraged to attend New Parent Orientation for D20, to help with their transition. Over 1000 Academy School District 20 teachers are participating in continuing education during the summer. Over 100 courses are offered offered during Summer Institute. Courses include Digital Photography, Integrating Geography and Literacy, and general course enhancements.
The District's Security Department received a grant from the state to improve Emergency Management and Substance Abuse Prevention.
Dr. Hatchell concluded by wishing all students a safe and fun summer.
