In the Market for a Smart Phone? Don't Get a Palm

I came into my office a few minutes ago and at least two people were on speaker on my phone.

The odd thing is that I hadn't been in the office for an hour. So, no, I didn't answer an incoming call, and I have no idea who these people were.

This isn't the first time this phone has answered itself. It did it just the other night when I was standing about three feet away from it talking to my husband in the dining room.

Another night, it was sitting on its charger, and I saw an incoming call but decided to let it go to VM. Well, it answered the call again. I still didn't want to talk to the person and heard "Hello? Hello?" about three times before they finally hung up.

I understand "butt calling". But, phantom answering is another thing altogether. I think it must be possessed. And, I can't wait to get rid of the danged thing. Another year of merriment and mayhem, and then perhaps I can get another Blackberry, the phone of my dreams.

Good luck buying your next phone. Just make sure it is not a Palm product.

Suzanne.....I was very happy to retire my palm based phone. I went with a droid and there has been a learning curve but I am going to conquer it! LOL

I went from Blackberry to Droid, HTC Incredible - I love my phone! It didn't take too long to learn, there's probably still stuff I need to learn, but it's leaps and bounds ahead of Blackberry.

As for phantom answering, that just plain sucks! There are times you need to send a call to vm, that's why we have vm.

I went from blackberry to Iphone and I LOVE it! BTW, I think there is a setting that allows you to have your phone answer automatically. You might want to check under settings. I've heard or seen this before... can't remember which

Suzanne, thanks for the tip, I'm looking for another phone. Never heard of phantom answering neither but that must be more than just annoying. My blackberry constantly asks me to "say a command" to which I usually reply "shut up" but it won't listen... :-)

That's just wierd, thanks for the heads-up on it.
I love my blackberry, but I wis hthere were more apps for it. I really hate the touchscreen, so that limits my choices in smartphones right now.
