Using Google Bookmarks [Tutorial Video]
I also use Delicious but Google has so much cool stuff you can keep it simple and go this route. I am really anxious for the icloud to come out the Fall from Apple. My bookmarks are not syncing correctly on Mobile Me so this is not connected on my stuff to avoid all the error messages. This might be the best solution for now!
There is an ENORMOUS amount of information that is put in front of us each day on the web. Google Bookmarks is what I am featuring today to help you find "that article" again when you have more time to read through it. Perhaps it is an article that has great info and you know there will be opportunities to share with somebody else later. Put it into your bookmarks list and you will be able to find it!
What makes google bookmarks successful is that it allows you to tag your favorites with "labels" (or in other words, keywords). When you tag a post, think of keywords that you know will come to your mind in the future when you are searching for it again. For me, I can often think of the author of the article as well. So I always add that as one of the tags to the bookmark.
One important concept that I will emphasize in the video below, is in regards to being consistent. When you pick keywords, be sure and pick the same keywords again for other articles that match. In Google Bookmarks, watch as you type for the pop-up listing of previously used tags. When you see a previously used tag, pick it! That way your groups will be more usable. If you don't, you might have your categories split up. For instance, "first time home buyer" and "first time homebuyers" - a split over the 's' :(
Let's get into the video tutorial now! (btw vbloggers group, I stepped up to the "get in front of the camera challenge" -- gotta do what I'm always telling you to do! :)
