Happy Father's Day to everyone on ActiveRain!
I'm so happy to have my father, Dr David Silverstone, in my life. Over the years I have learned so much from him about life, family, work and courage.
One thing few people know about my father is that he took up martial arts in his late 50s. He achieved his black belt in Russian Combat Sambo when he was 60! I'm happy I was able to witness his test and belt ceremony. Since getting his belt, he has competed in multiple events for the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) and supported other teammates from Aiki Academy in North Branford. He is currently progressing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (The picture here is from his recent Blue-belt test in BJJ).

Today I'm spending the day with my family - No open houses, and no customer appointments. I work hard during the week but make sure I always have time for my family, as they have always made time for me.
