With the Closing of a Transaction, My Pledge's Are Honored . . . Pay It Forward

Closed, 208 Newridge Ave, Waterbury CT

Throughout my RE/MAX career, I have always been a Miracle Agent. That doesn't mean that it was a miracle if I sold a home. Being a Miracle Agent in the RE/MAX System, means that I choose to make a donation to the Miracle Home System from the proceeds of my commission.

These donations are used to fund special programs at the nearest Children's hospital, which in this case is the Children's wing at Hartford Hospital. All donations are used locally, and are used wisely. All donations above $25. will have a card sent out to the person we designate.

I take an equal amount and donate to the Susan G Komen Foundation. This is to fund a cure for breast cancer, which hits very close to home for me.

As the Komen Foundation send nothing out, I end up sending a letter to my clients, letting them know that a donation was sent in their name.

I have sent out a lot of letters over the years, because the donations have totaled thouands of dollars. My clients are appreciative, but more importantly, I feel good.

This transaction was especially rewarding, not only because of the completed transaction, but also because it was a short sale transaction that cruised through the process and a family was given a new start. It's days like this where I sleep a little better at night.

Ed- I remember reading that you do this in a previous post before and I think it's just wonderful. I have my very first closing set to take place soon and perhaps I should go ahead and start things off right by getting involved and doing the same thing.

Hi Laura, thanks, and thanks for stopping

Anne, those $25 donations do mount, and mine was a bit larger than that

David, we are only as good as our word, and getting the confirmation from the charities is validation that we can keep our word.

Marge, every now and then I will write about another one, just so new potential clients see it. Thanks for stopping.

Judy, thanks and thanks for stopping

Thanks, Wanda, the Children's Hospital in Hartford CT does a lot for the kids so it's a donation tat can be seen.

Jane, a little humor for the folks, thanks for stopping.

Thanks Craig, they do hit home so it's an easy decision to make.

George, it's some thing I have been doing for almost 7 years now

Karen, calling me an angel is really a stretch, but thanks for the thought.

Hi Barbara, thanks for the thoughts. The short sale was very easy by comparison to some that I've had
