Do you want to sell me something--or just hear yourself talk?

I was driving back from a meeting a few weeks ago when I received a call with that dreaded LA area code. Usually, I don't pick up because I know what it will be: someone who wants to sell me SEO services. This time, though, I was doing some research on SEO and keyword providers so I picked up.

The saleswoman then pays me a compliment for my Active Rain presence and proceeds to talk, and talk...and talk some more....While she did remember to insert my name here and there in her patter, she neglected to check if it was a good time to talk or even bother to ENGAGE me by checking in from time to time. As she was burning MY cellphone minutes with little regard for anything save the sound of her voice, So, I did the only sensible thing and hung up on her.

That's just so funny.  One even called my office and after I interrupted them more than three times, I hung up too!  What part of NO don't they understand!

Irene - I totally understand. It happens here all the time as well. Plus they call back and act as if they have never spoke to you before.

Linda: Wow! They called you back 3 times--sounds a little like a stalker to me! If someone is that persistent, I make sure to put a name on the phone number like: Yada Yada Group so if the incoming call is from them, I don't pick up.

Shannon: We'd all like to be memorable so if they "forget" they've spoken to us before--well, phooey on that, I say.

Yup, Linda, you did the right thing. I hate salesmen that come after me. If I feel I need something, I will seek them out. I don't want someone telling me all that I am missing by not using them.

I also wanted to thank you for your subscription. I hope I can provide some helpful resources for you to do a lot of your OWN SEO,. :) I see you're from Kent, We just moved from Marysville last summer. Really missing the Pacific NW weather.

Thanks again!

Thanks Tammy. Marysville is such a pretty town--can't believe you miss NW weather! We are still being chilled and it's almost July. BTW, I'm Irene, not Linda ;-)

oh duh! I saw linda above and for some reason thought it was you, not you responding! HA.. so sorry!! YES I do miss it when we are stuck in 90+ degree weather every day with 90% humidity. You can't do anything. I was born and raised there so I love that wet, COOL weather! :)
