New to AR after Rain Camp Seattle? Just jump in...the water is fine!

Active Rain Camp Seattle WA 2011
I just returned late last night from Rain Camp Seattle 2011!  It was in one word.......Superb!

I just printed off my notes from this jam packed 2 day conference. Over 12 pages of type written notes.  I met old friends and new and had an amazing time.

And silly me...I don’t think I took a single picture!  I was simply on information overload and having WAY too much fun seeing old friends and meeting new.

I know some of you were new to Rain Camp and I am sure if I was overwhelmed, you were also.  Let me encourage you to take the information and implement it.  A great place to start is the Active Rain University. You fill find tutorials on everything you need to know!

And the price of admission alone was worth watching Ben Kinney and the guru tech supergenius of Brad Andersohn! Of course, Niki Parekh was front and center keeping everything running smoothly. Bless his heart, he checked me into Rain Camp and was giving me personal ideas of how to increase my business. Thanks Niki....

For you newbies. Here is my one piece of advice. Don’t try to do it all at once. Just think baby steps...one step at a time...and before you know it you will be blogging and increasing both your understanding of this business and your business itself.

I am sure in today’s skeptical market place, you are wondering which of so many products  are worth your valuable investment dollars. Those folks such as Todd Clark, Rich Jacobsen, Steve Shatsky, Debe Maxwell are superstar bloggers. But they wouldn't be without posting that first blog! And one that didn't speak but is absolutely fantastic is Renee Burrows! Her market reports rock!

And please remember that these folks are not paid advertisements. Every single one of these folks as so many in the Rain believe in paying it forward. These folks are the genuine faces of bloggers who like so many are there to do what they can to help you get up and blogging.

As Rain Camp winded down and I listened to Bob Stewart helping those who are thinking of blogging, I just wanted to grab everyone of those folks and say just do it. Just start.  I think that really is the hardest step. I know it was for me. But truly, nothing...and I mean nothing has impacted my business like Active Rain. There is no other source of a wealth of information to help you business than this forum.

So....just take it one step at a time.  Just set aside some time and begin.  Start with putting up your profile if you haven’t.  Pick some of those excellent speakers such and start reading their blogs.  Make comments on their blogs. Find other blogs that interest you and start following them.  Subscribe to some groups. And by all means take that step and blog....and really before you know it you will be off and running.....maybe someday you will be the next speaker at Rain Camp!

Don't feel bad, I realized when I got back the only pictures I got from Raincamp was the 2nd day lunch and not one of them was of any of the great people I was hanging with.

Debe - I can't tell you what a fun time I had!  I learned soooo much and of course just loved meeting you as well!  Renee Burrows was such a blast...and I had never meet Rich Jacobson as well.  Todd I met at last years Rain Camp and loved seeing him again.

Praful - You missed a wonderful Rain Camp for sure....yes I do believe you deserve one.  Barbara is amazing and Bill...well he is in a class all his own.  He is one guy I would LOVE to met!

I can speak for Bill--he has helped me tremendously and doesn't mind sharing his knowledge at all--they definitely need to head that way and let him share with the members.

Lori, would you consider emailing me a copy of your notes to GoldenGirl@GoldenResults.com. I would love to read them. Rain Camp is not coming to the DC area this year so I am dependent on what bloggers write as summaries.

I thought that was a funny picture because normally that is how I am with the camera. I am either having a shot of the reflection of my glasses or I'm taking a picture, it just was perfect.
