OK everyone this is my first blog. Maybe similar to the first walk in space but in Gig Harbor. As an avid boater of Puget Sound having grown up in a commercial fishing family, which means you take the reel off and it becomes a pleasure boat! I always thought the smell of diesel was a normal smell on the water!
I was blessed with boating out of Bellingham and wow there you are in the San Juans. When my husband suggested getting a boat I did sorta turn my nose up at the Sound Sound. Well that was over 20 years ago and I am in love with the South Sound. Yes we venture to the San Juans at least once a year, but the overcrowded bays I am finding less attractive. It has become more the gateway to the Gulf Islands in BC.
Last week we left Gig Harbor and in about a half hour arrived at Eagle Island. There are three mooring buoys there and two were waiting on us. In those few minutes from the harbor we felt like the world had changed and we were on vacation. As we walked the Island, lapping the five acres a few times, our dog Bob sent over 50 seals back into the waters from their sun bathing! A small dog felt power.
As a Realtor there is no better way then to see waterfront homes from the beaches as you skim through the waters. A mixed venue; relaxing and still working!
if you have ever thought about boating do remember Gig Harbor, the South Sound equals relaxing. It all goes together.
