Why Do Buyers Insist on Using TRULIA For Their Home Search?

By

So I have these out of town buyers who I am trying to assist in buying a home in Fresno CA.  I have set them up on a search through our MLS so they receive listings that meet their criteria.  I have excluded short sales from their search as they need to move here now and not in an "indefinite time frame".  I totally understand the need to be proactive and search on your own, however I have told them to use the serach on my website as it pulls directly from our MLS and is up to date.  I continue to receive inquiries from Zillow and Trulia that my buyers are interested in this home.  I respond to every inquiry with this is a short sale or this one has been pending for 2 months, etc.  I just wish all the information available to our buyers and sellers was up to date.  It would make the buyers search so much easier.

I totally agree.  This is my biggest dissatisfaction with these websites.

The worse part is when you put a listing on their site they don't remove it if you are not a member.  I am still getting emails on a rental from a year ago.

Hi Stephanie!

Listing quality and freshness is very important to us. We have systems in place that update our feeds daily. If the source has the latest up to date info, then it will also be reflected on Trulia.

Agents can alway log into their accounts and manually update the status and details of their listings.

Please take a look at the video below that explains how to do that:

Consumers like to use Trulia because of our easy to use interface and becuase of the vast amounts of information and tools we offer them. Together, we can help ensure that the listing data is more accurate and up to date for consumers.

To make sure your listings are up to date, please log into your account below:

Stephanie, I don't disagree with you. The problem with what Rudy says is that most agents don't update the status of their listings. Most don't even know how. Trulia needs to update the stuff automatically as the MLS updates.
