Shiver Me Timbers Park is being rebuilt in Lake Charles.
Last Fall Millennium Park in Lake Charles burned to the ground in a an arson fire.
The City of Lake Charles, businesses and volunteers have coordinated a task force to rebuild Millinneum Park -Shiver Me Timbers Park in Lake Charles. The park is going to be bigger and better than before and will include a giant Pirate Ship and has been renamed Shiver Me Timbers Park!
Features of the park will be climbing nets, cargo nets, slides, tunnels, ladders, suspension bridges and a treehouse! Along with the bricked entrance to the Park there will allso be a Fossil Sand Pit, Pavillion and Picnic Tables.
The City of Lake Charles has shared architect renderings of what the park will look like when finished.
Millennium Park was originally built in 2000 by volunteers and corporate donors and the entrance to the park was paved with donor bricks. The City of Lake Charles has announced this will be repeated with the new park. Donors can visit the City of Lake Charles website to purchase a brick!
Corporate donations have already begun and with each major donation donors received a piece of wood recovered from the original park. Lake Charles residents,volunteers and those interested can follow the progress of Millineum Park and become a fan of Millinneum Park on Facebook!
