When I think of fitness, I think of blood, sweat and tears with a giant personal trainer who has pecks the size of Texas, and the orange hue that comes with show body building. That image is intimidating!

If you saw me on the street, you'd think I was a round, jolly girl who adores her donuts... but I love working out and have been trying to lose the pounds for the last two years and have had some breakthrough. In total I have lost 65 lbs and I have 50 more lbs to go before I hit a my healthy weight.

The evil that is the dreaded plateau has been the bane of my existence for the last 2 years. Finally enough was enough and I enlisted a personal trainer, Wendy, to help get me over my plateau. Time went on and she was lovely enough to train me for a few months for a fraction of what she would normally receive from her regular clients but finally she was unable to keep me on with her.

Not wanting me to be left alone in my fitness battle Wendy wanted me to keep the success and told me abut Orange Theory Fitness and how when it opens she would really want me to enroll. Curious, I looked it up on the Internet to figure out what on earth Orange Theory was.

When I saw the Youtube video my eyes lit up and immediately I was determined to get into this program.

"The physiological theory behind Orangetheory is known as excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). During the course of a class, you will perform focused 10-30 minute intervals that use your entire body and stimulate your metabolism. After each exercise, you will feel increased energy. After the session, your body will continue to burn more calories as it tries to recover from the strong bursts of activity."

I've experienced this before, but I need somewhere and someone that will help keep me accountable, and Orange Theory provides the facility, the faculty, and the equipment to be able to reach EPOC. Just remember... What you put into your workout, is what you'll get out. That goes for health and fitness anywhere.

There won't be blood, but sweat and tears of happiness look promising with Orange Theory opening in New Tampa next month and in Saint Petersburg around the same time.

The fitness plan incorporates two personal trainers helping a group of about 30 clients at a time for one hour with Resistance training, treadmills and rowing machines which can burn up to 1500 calories over the course of 38 hours.

I've been searching for a convenient way to get the pounds off that I could fit into my schedule and that wont destroy my pocketbook. You can schedule a class that fits in your day, as often as you want to go. The personal trainers are there to help you reach that next level of fitness.

Luckily Wendy will be working at the New Tampa and Saint Petersburg location and as she is fantastic, I can't imagine her going into a program that she wouldn't trust herself. Knowing that, I'll put my money and my time in to kick the plateau in the teeth and achieve my goal of fitness success and reach a point where I can lead a healthy lifestyle for my family.

There are programs for kids, and seniors as well as everyone in between.

"Orangetheory Fitness is the brainchild of Ellen Latham, a passionate 35-year veteran personal trainer with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology.
