This week, I was lucky enough to have 2 repeat customers. They were very pleased with our work, and I'm so glad they called us for their next project.
One of my customers in Armonk NY is so sweet. Unfortunately, in January, they had a flood in their basement (water heater I think & thankfully covered by insurance). The good news is that they weren't out of pocket and we used it as an opportunity for a new carpet...and importantly, one that was SOFTER vs. what they had before (same price, but better for the young kids who would sit on the floor of their playroom.
Doubly unfortunately, one week after we installed this carpet, they had a major flood in an adjoining room. I didn't find out about this until last week...because apparently in this room, they had all sorts of other issues (including mold and other problems that took many months to solve).
It was so nice to be welcomed back with such open arms. Not only was the customer thrilled to see me and so friendly, but her kids we thrilled...because they LOVED their carpet. They were so cute and escorted me down to the new spot to recount the story. One of the daughters was sweet and warned me that I should put my shoes back on before visiting the damaged spot.
This was a small job for me, but I was thrilled to help since they were so nice. I then spent about an hour chatting w/ my customer as she is talking about starting her own business. We talked about blogging and social media and just lots of stuff. This was one of those days where it just made my day and reminded me about why I love my job.
