Holiday Weeks Are Good Weeks To Be Ready, Willing and Able (RE/MAX Results)

Every week is a good week to buy a house. However, on a Holiday week I think a lot of buyers and sellers have the thinking that its going to be a slow week.  This can be true.  Certainly a larger number of people plan vacations around Holidays like the 4th of July.

Weekends in the summer can also be slower overall.  I think some of the reason for that is not that the buyers are gone, but that the agents are gone and most of the time the buyers will wait until the agent is back to see the home.  Of course you don't want to miss your perfect home and that's why holiday weeks are a great time to buy a house and here is why:

1)  Less competition!  A new low price bank owned home or short sale that normally gets multiple offers might only get your offer. So be ready to make an offer.

2) Sellers wanting to sell.  A regular seller who wants to sell and close by the end of summer is starting to get a little more anxious.  Get your offer in and see what happens.

3) Your agent may be less busy.  This week your agent might have some of their buyers out of town and be more flexible with showings for you.

4) People are happier!  Its a week where many people will have more time off, the weather is nice and people will be happier and hopefully easier to work with overall!

Chuck, I'll definitely be working.  I'm always surprised how many buyers are out looking on holiday weekends.  Love weekends like such as this coming weekend when their will be less competition.  If they call me...... I'm sure to answer my phone.~
