Open Ocean Swim, Tri-Training Update

My training for the sprint triathlon continues...

Today, we swam "between the buoys" for the appropriate mileage (1/4 mile) for our sprint tri, coming up VERY quickly on 7/9/11 - and it was interesting to say the least.  This was in Jacksonville Beach, right by (conveniently) the lifeguard station.

The view you have in the ocean is VERY different from a pool (especially here in NE FL) and there were so many other swimmers, you could easily end up with someone swimming on top of you (good practice, I think!).

My new goggles worked out great, and my pool work has paid off well - next weekend, our own "mini" tri to train for 7/9  - I will of course, keep y'all posted!
