My Favorite Day Lilies at the Amador Flower Farm in Plymouth, CA

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

I was supposed to list a home in Rancho Covdova this weekend. But the seller of that short sale isn't quite ready yet, and she canceled our appointment. That's too bad because in another month, we'll be moving into the slower season. People think that selling in summer is the best time to put your home on the market, but it's not. Still, if you have to do a short sale, what choice have you got? You call your Sacramento short sale agent, and you go on the market.

That cancellation did leave me free, though, to take a short trip with my husband to the Amador Flower Farm. It's about an hour out of Sacramento, down Highway 16 toward Jackson and then right on Shenandoah School Road. The day lilies are beautiful right now. This nursery boasts more than 800 varieties of flowers. Plus, it's smack dab in the middle of Amador wine country.

Here are some of my favorite day lilies:

I think my favorite would have to be the Half Moon Lily.  Very pretty.

Gorgeous lilies Elizabeth! They burst with amazing color and texture and are gone too quickly!

Hi Elizabeth, they are so pretty!  Most of these I have never seen before either, but I love daylillies.  Thanks for the  beautiful photos today.

Absolute breathtaking.  And to think a canceled listing appointment gave you this opportunity.  You are so right though, that Seller, while they may not be ready, could pay the price for longer market time by delaying.

Love your photos. Also love day lilies. When I lived in Tallahassee FL, this was my favorite flower to plant. Once the plants matured, I dug them up, subdivided the bulbs, and off they went. So easy, and seems impervious to abuse (as when I cut the bulbs in half). And also seemed to do well with very little water and a lot of heat. My kind of plant --- self-sustaining!

I guess I knew there were lots of varieties of day lilies, but those are gorgeous.
