It may not be pretty, but for some weird reason I could not resist. I think I should include a more pleasant photo to go along with this one.

Hi Suzi - Nice bug! It's a good thing you didn't post this on PETS ARE PEOPLE TOO - they have a rule specifically prohibiting bug posts - just a bunch of haters and bigots.
I'm kind of liking the Heron better, LOL :)! That is a pretty ugly bug there, but I am sure beautiful to another one just like him :)!
Hello Dick and Brenda--The MGC is as fascinating as Colorado and Texas. As a matter of fact, Brenda--did you know the Texas Horned Toad is in a protective status and endangered? I grew up with THorned toads in abundance. They were like mini dinosaurs. I shouldn't say "were" because they still exist, just scarce.
The bug is not so attractive but the blue Heron is beautiful! They are so amazing to watch. We have lots of them in my neck of the woods.
The colors in the shot with the Blue Heron are amazing! We have one of those birds that hangs out at a pond in a park near my home. It is always special when he is around, and resting among the lilypads.
Hi Suzi - Here's a scenario: Big scary bug eaten by Blue Bird :-) Nice pics!
How big is that beetle? Kinda nasty if you tell me... But it's a cool picture!
Thanks to all who visited and commented. Instead of having a lot of my mug on this post saying thank you--I have decided to comment at your own blogs. So, this note is one big thank you and "I'll see you at your blog:-) "
Suzi,
So do the herons eat those big bugs? Not so appetizing... LOL
