Candy, I too would like to know about the card games---I've been playing all different types for as long as I can remember!  Great information and I hope the Seniors enjoy this weekly event.

Mary - I am assuming bridge as well as others.  They said card games in general.  I like Gin Rummy and poker, spades, bridge.  All kinds of cards!

Robert - I used to play checkers with my grandfather.  Was pretty good.  My sons started beating me so guess not as great anymore.  lol

Carole - I am sure the Seniors will just love this!  I too played cards as long as I can remember!

Hi Candy,
What a great way for seniors to pass some time and enjoy the company of others.  A great resource.  We (my parents, my brother and I) used to play Canasta, spades and hearts.  Canasta was our favorite.  We also played a lot of backgammon.

Cynthia - I love hearts as well and I used to play backgammon.  I do not think I ever played Canasta. I will have to check that out.

I love hearts too...and a game called hand and foot! I am glad to see the community incorporating activities for seniors. I feel like sometimes they get forgotten a little to often.

Shellee - You are absolutely right-the seniors do sometimes get forgotten!  I have never heard of hand and foot.  I am curious about that, let me know about this game.

A social for seniors is a great way to pick up babes as most of 'us guys' are....... well, not on this Earth.

I'll be there.

Well it takes at least four players and lasts ages! The rules are rather sticky at first and there is a lot to know so I wont endeavor to explain it here. I'll barrow the instructions from my Gran and type you up a copy shall I?

Shellee- It is a little closer than Tomball.  Your card should work there & and it is pretty much on your way to Barnes & Noble.  :)
