I can think of no better place to Celebrate the 4th of July than at the Beach!  And Lewes and Rehoboth Beaches have an exciting schedule of fun activities lined up for your enjoyment. Here is a partial list of what's in store:

Friday, July 1 - The 287th Army Band of the National Guard will perform at 8pm at the Rehoboth Bandstand. These military bands are the best!

Saturday, July 2 - The 45th Annual St. Peter's Art and Artisan Show at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 2nd St., Lewes. The show runs from 9am-4pm and features 140 artists and craftspeople from the Cape region. A delicious luncheon will be served, faces will be painted, fun will be had, charities will benefit. Saturday, July 2 - Jesse Garron, Elvis Tribute Artist, 8pm at the Rehoboth Bandstand

Saturday-Monday, July 2-4 - Love Weekend, sponsored by Camp Rehoboth, features three dances at the Rehoboth Convention Center. For a full schedule and ticket info, log onto www.camprehoboth.com, or call 302-227-5620.

Sunday, July 3 - Dave Reynolds Swim/Run Biathlon, Rehoboth Beach Patrol Headquarters, Baltimore Ave. and the Boardwalk, Rehoboth Beach, beginning at 8am. Pre-registration required. www.seashorestriders.com or 302-644-8952.

Sunday, July 3 - Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic, 8pm at the Rehoboth Bandstand.  Strike Up the Band!

AND NOW FOR THE BIG DAY...

Monday, July 4 - Family Friendly events all day in Lewes, centered on Second St. and ending with the Doo-Dah Parade from 5-7pm. The Boat Parade starts at the canal at 1:30, with the floating patriotic displays reaching the bridge around 2pm. Visit www.leweschamber.com, or call 302-645-8073 for more info.

Monday, July 4 - 4th of July Fireworks, scheduled to start about 9:15pm, although they could go as early as 8pm if inclement weather threatens. Start the evening with a pre-fireworks concert performed by the U.S. Navy Country Current, 8-9pm at the Bandstand. Fireworks can be seen anywhere along the Boardwalk or the Beach. The celebration continues with the Funsters at the Bandstand, following the fabulous firework display (sponsored by Rehoboth Beach Mainstreet- www.downtownrehoboth.com). Visitors are encouraged to utilize the Park 'n Ride, located on Surrey Rd. behind County Bank.
