MY BEST FRIEND IS ALWAYS BESIDE ME WHEN I AM WORKING AT MY DESK.....I CALL MY FRIEND DICTIONARY
AFTER SEARCHING, HERE IS A SUGGESTION TO HELP NEWER RAINER'S LIKE ME
I am a reader, I love books, I am a writer, I love to write anything. Whether I am reading or writing I keep my best friend right where I can consult, collaborate, learn meanings and find new words.
My best friend has been invaluable to me over the years, with so many ways of sharing information that hide between the thin fragile pages that I often hear as I turn them. Old Fashioned call me, but it surely feels good when I find the information I am seeking.
Since I have my best friend at my side most of the time when I am at my desk or reading, and need to look something up, I have a suggestion for when I am on Active Rain and cannot find an answer to a question I might have.
How about a Glossary of words and terms used on Active Rain with clear concise meanings and explanations, which newer people and perhaps some older Rainer's might find useful. Not Blogs we have to research, something we can click onto easily.
Display it on the left hand side of the home page as has been displayed for other things. I have looked all over in the manual (which I have on my favorites) for something which would be either a glossary or similar to no avail, plus it takes a lot of time I don't always have. That being said I may have just missed it.
I dislike sounding ignorant or unaware and am not good at wearing the embarrassment of not knowing, but one of the explanations I have been looking for is what are Associates, and what is the difference between Associates and Subscribers. I understand subscribers, this is pretty clear, but Associates? I know the dictionary meaning, but what does it mean in Active Rain.
There are a lot of things that a glossary could clear up and I believe would not be difficult to put together. The Glossary might not be very long, I don't know, but other things could be included in the explanations. You know questions we all have from time to time, like what are the niceties one should display when you receive an invitation to join or whatever.
I always feel like "I should know" but when it has not been explained, I do ask the question even if I take the risk of sounding ignorant or being embarrassed. So what do you think about a glossary placed where we could easily find it, any opinions?
I would ask my Best Friend but I think this is one subject my best friend does not have the answer for. Go figure.
