Lonsdale Quay Market in Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver
The Lonsdale Quay Market, located in the Lower Lonsdale area of North Vancouver, is a mecca for anyone searching for fresh, local produce, freshly cut flowers, fish, meat, delis, arts & crafts, clothing, local wine, and great restaurants. The Quay came to life during Expo 86, and hasn't looked back. Located right by the ocean, near a working ship building site, Lonsdale Quay has attracted foodies and latte lovers alike. This is a wonderful place to hang out in the summer, sit on the deck, and look across at the downtown Vancouver skyline.
Lower Lonsdale is a neighbourhood of condos and townhouses, with everything you'd need within walking distance. There is a distinct west coast maritime feel all around, complete with brightly coloured tug boats mooring right by the Quay. In the summer there's a fresh farmer's market outdoors, also, with lots of organic produce to choose from. Lonsdale Quay is the place to be on a lazy Saturday afternoon, sitting on the deck by the ocean, with an ice cream and a couple of seagulls eying you closely.
It's great to stroll by the shops at Lonsdale Quay. The Artisan Wine Shop is a great place to find local B.C. wines and ice wines.
The Quay has two levels for your shopping pleasure, with the remaining floors being the Lonsdale Quay Hotel.
You don't need a car when you live close to Lonsdale Quay. This is a tug boat, moored right next to the Market.
The Market is open 7 days a week, from 9am - 7pm (with retail shops opening at 10am), and restaurants staying open until later.
